graphic novels are the rage today, and as a result we see more and more in their movies. Cross a great story with great art, and you have what it takes to win.
Frank Miller's "Sin City" the transition to the big screen and became a great success. Many people the film that his books have a huge wave of popularity and buy a whole new audience liked to experiment, including myself.
Mephisto
After seeing the film for the third time and falling hopelesslyin love with Dwight aka Clive Owen, I had a copy of the book by Frank Miller. HARD GOODBYE I bought the first of seven books in the series, not knowing that Dwight is not even in it.
THE HARD GOODBYE Marv is history. It 'a prominent place in the film, but so do the books three and four, hit big, fat, and that Yellow Bastard. A story, the customer is always right begins and ends the film. I put everything on my wish list.
Before arrivingA hard copy of noir GOODBYE be prepared for its most obscure - difficult characters, seedy settings, violence, threatening drawings in black and white, even cannibalism. Not for the faint of heart. But if the film could have seen.
As in many noir stories, one that begins with a lady, the only woman who ever gave Marv dryer. Marv, a powerful, mentally disturbed bats spend the night with a beautiful prostitute named Goldie, and wakes up next to his corpse. L 'Cops come, and Marvin, who does not recognize the strongest tool in the shed, is framed. Goldie treated him with kindness. The least we can do is find the bastard who is responsible for her death and is "difficult to say goodbye."
Marv corruption, looks anti-hero par excellence, criminal Sin City and meetings at all levels hit men, prostitutes, corrupt cops, even a cannibal. Marv is also nice, because only kill the scum of the earth in his quest for revengemurder of Goldie.
The story is a fantasy written by a man and male point of view. It 'full of stereotypes, women are sex objects beautiful, that the bad of rapes and tortures them and good wishes to protect them. Marv is still a fascinating character, and this is a gripping thriller with a pace faster than driving to the end.
Miller black and white drawings are visually stunning and perfectly suited to his hard-boiled detective novel. Some plates wereconfused and I had to study for a couple of minutes to get the picture. That said - it's a hell of a love story. I went through the book in one sitting, and I thought it was great.
The film follows the book to a T. If you liked the movie, will receive the book. You will not regret.
